The Miggi app is provided as a free service intended for users. By using our service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, unless otherwise defined here.

Information We Collect

For certain activities, such as registration, uploading content to the platform, or contacting us directly, you may provide some or all of the following information:

Registration Information

Username, email address, date of birth, gender, and time zone

Profile Information

Name, hobbies, and other details as indicated on the "My Profile" page, including your profile picture and cover image

Camera, Microphone, and Media Permissions

The app asks for camera or gallery access when you send a picture, and microphone access when you record a voice message. These permissions are optional and are only used at the moment you use the feature

Location Data

Your location is shared only when you choose to — for example when you send your location in a chat or open the nearby-people screen. For nearby discovery we store a single, deliberately imprecise point (rounded to roughly 100 meters — never your exact position). It automatically stops being discoverable after a limited time and the stored record is permanently deleted shortly after; you can also remove it instantly with the "Delete my location" option in the nearby screen's menu. You can accept or refuse location access at any time in your device settings

Messages and Media

Your chats are stored on our servers so they can be delivered when you are offline and synchronized across your devices. Photos, voice messages, and other media you send are stored privately and are only reachable through time-limited signed links.

In private chats you can delete a message you sent for everyone within a limited time after sending; deleted messages are replaced with a placeholder for all participants. Reported or deleted content may be retained for a limited period where necessary for moderation and abuse prevention.

Third-Party Service Providers

We work with a small number of third-party providers to run Miggi. They process data only as needed to perform their function for us, and we never sell your personal information:

Cloud hosting and storage for the service and the media you upload
Push notification delivery (Firebase Cloud Messaging by Google) — notifications carry only minimal data such as a sender or room name, never your message text
Billing for optional purchases, handled by the app store (Google Play)
Anonymous analytics and crash reporting that help us keep the service reliable

Push Notifications

Push notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging (a Google service). For chat messages, the notification is a minimal signal that tells your device to check for new messages — it may include a sender or room name, but never the content of your message. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

Security

We value your trust in providing us your personal information, thus we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it.

Your connection to Miggi is encrypted, and chat traffic carries an additional per-session encryption layer. Uploaded media is stored privately and served only through time-limited signed links. Your message text is never included in push notifications. Personal data is stored behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights.

Data Retention

We will retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to anyone under the age of 14, the minimum age set by our Terms and Conditions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14.

Miggi has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Our published standards, including how to report CSAE and how to reach our child safety point of contact, are set out in our Child Safety Standards.
